Hi! I'm Lauren

I grew up in Port Angeles, Washington where I began playing viola in the 4th grade. At that age I had no idea what a viola was and truthfully, I wanted to play the violin or cello. Luckily for me, our school ran out of violins and cellos to loan out to students. My teacher gently introduced me to the viola–from that moment on I was hooked!

 

I have great memories of visiting my grandparents after school, playing everything we worked on in class. They always encouraged me to practice and sent me to a local strings workshop in the summer. That's where I met my first viola teacher. Through private lessons and school performances, my love for music only grew.

 

With support from my family, teachers, and mentors, I decided to pursue music as a career. I now have a Bachelor's degree in Viola Performance and am working on my Masters in Viola Performance at Carnegie Mellon University. Learn more here
